Let me share with you what co-founder of Unity, Myrtle Fillmore says about prosperity.  This is a beautiful statement she made specifically about prosperity:  To enjoy without possession…To enjoy without possession…to see without coveting…to have without holding…to be without seeming…

I played in a tournament on Saturday, out at Riverhead.  And, I was looking for a hotel room.  I didn’t realize that it was so far out until that morning.  I looked to see how far that tournament was away on Saturday morning.  And it was way out, an hour-and-a-half to ride.  So I went out, played a practice round and then decided to stay.  This was Friday.

I went out there, played the practice round, and decided to spend the night.  All the hotels were empty. There was no place at the inn.  And through a series of Divine Order, I had a friend say to me, “Justin, you are only an hour away from where I am, in the Hamptons.  Why don’t you come out and spend the night at my place?”

So, as I was driving to this person’s house, it was so wonderful to look at the gardens and the yards, and the beautiful houses, and I was enjoying them maybe as much as they (owners) were enjoying them.  Only, I don’t have to trim the yard.  I don’t have to cut the grass.  I don’t have to do the windows.  You know, to enjoy without possession

And that goes with anything.  Have you ever been in a clingy relationship?  Where you just feel, oh God, you feel all trapped in that relationship?  To enjoy without possession…to enjoy life…The more we are attached to things, the less we enjoy them.  The more we are attached to people, the less we can really love and appreciate them.  The more that we know God is our source, the more we can enjoy the things that we have and the people who are in our lives.  That’s the point…That’s the point.  You can enjoy whatever comes your way.

I’ve had so many pleasures in my life that I didn’t plan or seek.  They just showed up and it’s like…wow…look at this…I’m a rich child of God.  I am a rich child of God, because God is the source.  God is the source.  I am telling you.  I have seen it over and over in my own life.  That’s the only reason why I talk about my life.  I’m not just telling you what I have read in a book.  I’m not just telling you what I think.  I have experienced this stuff.

I went from living in a little cubbyhole in a spiritual community…I lived in a corner of a trailer at one time…I lived in these little shack type of things in the woods…for meditation and prayer and study…and I was happy. And then I went from that to the streets of Manhattan, speaking at Lincoln Center, working with Eric Butterworth…and when the time was over for that, I went to Hilton Head Island, one of the greatest golf resorts in the whole world.  And when Spirit said, “Okay, you’ve had your fun here, your healing in South Carolina…Your day is done here…” this (Unity Center of New York City) opened up.
